Raja Ampat & Banda Sea on Arenui, 23 March-4 April 2021
This 12 night adventure trip will be run on the luxurious Arenui Liveaboard to explore two of Indonesia’s best snorkeling destinations, Raja Ampat and the Banda Sea. In Raja Ampat we will snorkel the famous reefs of the Dampier Strait and the remote Southern sites around Misool. In Raja Ampat expect Mantas, Wobbegongs, Walking Sharks, Pygmy Seahorses, schools of Sweetlips, Barracuda and Batfish, and if we’re lucky hunting Mobula Rays! On our way to the Banda Sea we will snorkel Pulau Koon, renowned for its huge schools of fish. Once in the Banda Sea we will snorkel the Banda Islands and Manuk where we hope to encounter hundreds of Sea Snakes! Our final stop on the trip will be Ambon Bay, home to an amazing array of critters!

The Arenui is a traditional and magnificent Phinisi – a classic Indonesian wooden sailing vessel – set to explore the majestic underwater world of the Indonesian archipelago. She has been designed to host a maximum of 16 passengers in 8 exceptionally spacious cabins. The cabins all feature individual themes and styles inspired by handicrafts from each of the Indonesian provinces. Each cabin has a private en-suite bathroom, individual air conditioning, a king-size bed or roomy single beds and a distinct lounge area that guarantees maximum comfort. Arenui’s main deck features 2 Master cabins (Rama and Shinta) and 2 Deluxe cabins (Barong and Ganesh), plus the galley, the dive deck and the spacious lounge and restaurant that reaches across the full width of the vessel. On the lower deck there are 4 Deluxe cabins (Garuda, Legong, Toraja and Dayak).
On the skydeck you’ll find the sky restaurant and sun-bathing area, the wheelhouse and the raised sky lounge that stretches across the back half of the boat. The sky restaurant is a perfect place for al fresco meals and watching the changing Indonesian landscapes. The sky lounge is a favourite spot with most guests. In addition to an outdoor shower for cooling off and a wooden bar for drinks, the sky lounge features day-beds and benches all fitted with high-quality, thick mattresses for ultimate comfort. On the skydeck there are spaces open to the elements for the sun-lovers but also a large canopy for shade.

The cost of the trip is 7,920 USD in a Deluxe cabin or 8,520 USD in a Master cabin. These prices include 12 nights on Arenui, all snorkeling, all meals, soft drinks, water, tea, American/Balinese coffee, welcome massage (1/2 hour per person) and return transfers between local airport and the vessel on the day of embarkation and disembarkation.
